CMB’s Goals are three fold
1) Qualify the investor for a permanent visa under EB-5. In short, we strive to be the best EB-5 Investor Visa program in the marketplace. We do this by establishing various limited partnerships that serve as an investment vehicle to make the above described investments that simultaneously provide the best opportunities for foreign nationals applying for an EB-5 visa with the USCIS. This goal is specifically met by assisting those California communities which have experienced adverse economic effects due to federal military base closures. We make direct investments in private enterprises as well as public investments in state and local government economic development authorities charged with the redevelopment of the closed military bases and surrounding regions located within the CMB Export, LLC Regional Center.
2) Return the original investment capital to the investor. We believe investing with government agencies associated with joint power authorities meets the criteria for the at-risk investment while at the same time is as safe an investment as we can find. Other EB-5 programs invest with individuals and companies, buy real estate, buy farm land or make other types of investments. Each of these investments has a multitude of potential problems and are, in our opinion, far riskier than an investment into a governmental agency. Furthermore, in many cases our funds are utilized as “seed” funds required for state and federal grants. Utilizing this structure allows us to, in effect, multiply the funds that are invested. The more funds invested in a project usually means more jobs created. This multiplication factor insures plenty of evidence of job creation when the client files his/her petition for condition removal.
3) Secure a return on investment for our investors. Notice that the return on investment is third on the list. Why? If the investor is looking for a return on investment we feel they are the most qualified to invest their own funds. Immigration EB-5 based investment in most cases is not the hottest investment available in today’s global market. The #1 reason the investor is considering an EB-5 investment is the permanent visa. The potential investors in EB-5 investments have acquired considerable net worth and they are sophisticated investors. They understand the perils of high risk investments. CMB believes that a safe investment that provides a minimum of risk offers the investor confidence they will receive the original capital back. This structure meets the “at risk” requirement of the EB-5 program, yet is the safest EB-5 investment today. We have focused on safety of the investment not a high rate on return. A riskier investment puts at risk not only the capital of the investor but the very reason they invested, the permanent visa (green card) for if the investment fails the jobs fail to be created and the investors will loose the visa approval.
