US Senate Reauthorizes the EB-5 Regional Center ProgramOctober 2, 2020

This week, the Senate passed a Continuing Resolution (“CR”) which reauthorizes the EB-5 regional center program through December 11, 2020.  The bill was signed by President Trump. The CR provides funding for the federal government and authorization for several government programs including EB-5.

CMB is excited to see the short-term renewal of the program without lapse.  As a job-creation program, EB-5 will continue to be an effective tool for job growth and recovery during this difficult time for our country.  As an immigration tool, it will provide our clients an expeditious path to permanent residency in the United States.

CMB appreciates the efforts of Congress, and many in the industry, to ensure the continued authorization of the EB-5 regional center program.  Although short-term reauthorization is necessary by the end of the year, we look forward to renewed efforts to reform the regional center program to ensure fairness, transparency, and expediency within the EB-5 regional center program.
